Safety on the internet is rapidly eroding. Attapinya recommends a proactive approach toward guarding personal information, which of course requires a degree of self-education.  If you have not yet taken protective measures for yourself, please allow us to give some guidance.

Probably the simplest and most effective single step you can make is to abandon the Internet Explorer web browser for an alternative. While there are several excellent and free replacements, Attapinya recommends Firefox.  It is pleasant to use and offers terrific protection "off the shelf". You need not stop there though, since Firefox is highly customizable.  Thanks to hundreds of dedicated digital saints out there, we have a plethora of Firefox addons to choose from, many of which enhance its security even more.

Suggested security addons are:

• WOT - Adds an indicator that grades sites by their community reputation.
• NoScript - Enables great control over Javascript execution on a site-by-site basis.
• AdBlock - Blocks advertisements and other nasties from loading on your system.
• FlashBlock - Blocks Flash objects from loading, allowing you to pick and choose which Flash to use.
